Each Spring the Friends of the Westbank Library have awarded scholarships to graduating teens who have volunteered a minimum of 50 hours over at least 2 semesters at the Westbank Community Library.  Hours are confirmed by library staff.

The Friends will be awarding at least one (1) $1,000 scholarship in 2024.  Applications will be emailed to eligible teens at the beginning of March 2024.  Completed Applications will be due in early April 2024.  Awards will be announced in early May 2024. 

 Applicants must be a U.S. citizen qualified for admission to an accredited college, university or trade school.  A reference letter from an adult who is NOT a relative or Westbank Library staff must be submitted by email to:

Funds will be disbursed upon proof of enrollment at an institution of higher education no later than December 31, 2024.  Failure to enroll in an accredited institution of higher education will result in forfeiture of the scholarship award.

Each scholarship is a one-time award and not renewable.  Members of the Friends organization will determine all scholarship award recipients.
