Each Spring the Friends of the Westbank Library award scholarships to graduating teens who have volunteered a minimum of 50 hours over at least 2 semesters at the Westbank Community Library. Hours will be confirmed by library staff.
In April 2021, the Friends will award three (3) scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.
Applications will be emailed to eligible applicants beginning March 1, 2021.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen qualified for admission to an accredited college, university or trade school. A reference letter from an adult who is NOT a relative or Westbank Library staff must be submitted by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Applications and the reference letter are due by 4pm on April 2, 2021.
All winners will be notified on or before April 19, 2021 and will be recognized at the Volunteer Celebration Dinner at Laura's Library on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Funds will be disbursed upon proof of enrollment at an institution of higher education. Failure to enroll in an accredited institution of higher education will result in forfeiture of the scholarship award.
Each scholarship is a one-time award and not renewable. Members of the Friends organization will determine all scholarship award recipients.
